Becca + Travis

The wedding of Becca and Travis on May 6th, 2023, at Farragut State Park was an absolute blast! This dynamic duo took "May the Force be with you" to a whole new level by hosting a full-blown Star Wars themed wedding. From start to finish, the park was transformed into a galaxy far, far away, with lightsabers sparkling in every corner. Becca, looking like a Sith lord in her stunning gown, walked down the aisle hand-in-hand with Travis, who rocked an all-black Darth Vader tux. It was a day where love and the Force were perfectly balanced, making for a truly unforgettable day. Congratulations Becca and Travis! Welcome to the Believe Bride family!

The Proposal! It was a perfect night! We were throwing a Halloween Party at our home with friends and family. I was dressed as Morticia Addams, and he was dressed as Gomez (of course!). He caught me completely off guard! He started with addressing the party and thanking everyone for joining us. He then got down on one knee and asked me with the most beautiful ring I have ever seen! I screamed "YES!" and then a few of the guys popped about 4 of the confetti canons. I was finding confetti for months afterwards! Yet, every little piece I found put a giant grin on my face. ☺️

The Big Day! The wedding was incredible! We are both Star Wars fans and we decided to do a full "Darkside" theme and just have fun with it! My dress was black and silver to resemble Darth Vader. My ladies wore full length red dresses to symbolize the Red Guard. My husband was in a full black on black tux with his men in black tuxes with red vests. We all wore black cloaks walking down the aisle. The gentlemen removed their cloaks once I reached the archway. Due to it being a little chilly and sprinkling rain, myself and the ladies kept our cloaks on. My father walked me down the aisle dressed as Darth Maul (minus the mask). My oldest son dressed as Luke Skywalker, my middle son was Kylo Ren, and they walked directly in front of me. My youngest, our ring bearer dressed as The Mandalorian. Our flower girl wore a black and white dress with silhouettes of various Star Wars Characters.

My brother officiated and included "Sith Lore" throughout the ceremony. During the "If anyone has a reason these two should not be joined...", our DJ (dressed as Obi-Wan Kenobi) came RUNNING down the aisle yelling, "This union is an abomination!" At which point my youngest, who was standing next to me, "shot" him with his Mando gun, saying a very cute, "pew, pew!"

After the ceremony, the wedding party went down to the beach to take pictures. Because it was rainy and muggy, the esthetic was PERFECT! The back mountains had fog rolling down and it was just barely sprinkling so we weren't getting soaked.

After pictures, we returned to the party for food! We did a taco bar for food which I highly recommend.

The wedding was absolutely perfect! The one piece of advice I have is, if you plan on doing pictures after the ceremony like we did, say hello to as many guests as you can before you go. I was so wrapped up in everything that I didn't take into account that there are many guests that only come for the ceremony and not the reception. Because of this, by the time we came back from doing pictures, half of the guests had left and I hadn't been able to say hi to most of them.

What was your favorite part of your wedding? My absolute favorite part was the interaction with the DJ running down the aisle. It was a dash of comedy in a semi-serious situation, and it was hilariously wonderful!

Special Memories: The entire day was magical! However, seeing the look on my husband's face when he turned around and saw me for the first time was *chef's kiss*. Then, he took off his cloak and I was just about drooling he was so handsome!

What advice would you give to future brides? Don't sweat the small stuff! I know it seems like an asinine statement but we as bride's spend MONTHS stressing before the wedding even comes! Allow yourself to actually enjoy the day. The best thing I did was hire a coordinator. We planned the wedding entirely on our own but when it came down to the day, I didn't want to worry about the details. I didn't want the stresses of making sure everything was stocked or going according to plan. It made the day run much more smooth and I wasn't getting asked a million questions!
