On the 2nd of September, Kylee and Colton tied the knot in a wild western country wedding that perfectly matched their outdoorsy personalities. With breathtaking views of the majestic mountains as their backdrop, love was in the air and cowboy boots were on the dance floor. As the night ended, the couple was ready to embark on their adventures together, one trail at a time! Congratulations Kylee and Colton! Welcome to the Believe Bride family!
The Proposal! My sister-in-law for my birthday gave me a photo session so I could get pictures with Colton. Little did I know it was a proposal, and the only day my sister-in-law had available was on my birthday. We had all our family there and we were in the most gorgeous place by a pond. My sister-in-law said she had a really good idea for pictures and asked me to close my eyes. Everyone was yelling at me to keep my eyes closed and I was really nervous and thought I was going to get a birthday present. And when I opened my eyes, Colton was on his knee and I got the best birthday present ever, a fiancé!
The Dress! I knew from the start I was going to have a hard time picking a dress because I am so picky and I always second guess myself. When I put my dress on for the first time, I had the biggest smile on my face. I loved the elegant lace, the blush undertone, the mesh sides, the neckline was exactly what I wanted, and the train was so beautiful. I didn’t say yes at first because I knew I had another appointment and at that appointment I couldn’t get that dress out of my head. We left and went back to Believe Bride and when I put the dress on again, I couldn’t help but immediately start crying.
The Big Day! My husband and I are very outdoorsy people. I’m not an ordinary bride I wanted that western/country wedding vibe. Our venue did just that. It was a gorgeous wooden barn, 2 patios one that looked over the ceremony field, and the ceremony field had the most amazing views of the mountains. It fit our personalities so perfectly. It was by far everything we had ever dreamed of.
What was your favorite part of your wedding? I can’t just pick one favorite part because everything was so amazing. I did many first looks, but my first look with my groom, my dad, and my first look with my grandmother were by far so special to me. They all cried and made me feel so incredibly beautiful. Another favorite part of the wedding was the cake cutting, or I really should say smashing! I told Colton not to smash cake in my face, and when we did it he was really nice and I smeared a little on his face and well…. He smashed an entire cupcake in my face and got it all in my eyelashes and well just coated my face. I was SO pissed, but then my mother in law smashed a cupcake in his face and it was everywhere! I couldn’t help but laugh even though I had to redo my makeup. And don’t worry, not a single drop got on my dress!
Special Memories! My most special memory from my wedding was the gift my mother gave me. My grandfather passed away years ago and the one thing I wanted was to have him at my wedding. Well, my mother got me this picture chain of my grandfather that I could clip onto my wedding bouquet. That will forever be so special to me.
What advice would you give to future brides? Control only what you can control. Things are going to go wrong during planning, setting up, and on the big day but stay calm and control what you can. By doing that you’ll remain so stress free and your day will be amazing!
