On July 6, 2024, Jessica and Matthew tied the knot at Mitcham’s Barn in a day filled with love, laughter, and unique touches—like giving each single lady a rose instead of a traditional bouquet toss. Surrounded by family and friends, the couple created countless special memories, from their sons being ring bearers and best men, to Matthew holding back tears as Jessica walked down the aisle. Congratulations Jessica and Matthew! Welcome to the Believe Bride family!
The Proposal! It was December 22nd, 2022, I was at work, and he was texting me and was asking me for my dad's phone number because he had found a gas can that would fit to my dad's Jeep. I knew something was up because he normally doesn't talk to my dad on the phone. So, after I gave him my dad's phone number, he had asked me if there was any place that has Christmas lights. The only place that I could think of was Sacred Heart at the children's hospital. He said he wanted to go look at Christmas lights and I definitely knew something was up at that point because it was -6 with the wind chill. So, we go and we get to Sacred Heart and he's back behind me and I'm taking pictures of all the lights, well I stepped back and almost knocked the ring out of his hand and almost knocked him over. He gets back into position; I turned around and he was down on one knee and then he asked me to marry him. My response was "really?!" And then I said "yes" I will always remember it because I love looking at Christmas lights, it was -6 and I'm always cold and I was pregnant at the time, And I got to say yes to my best friend.
The Dress! I worked with Alexa, and she was really helpful. I gave her a picture of an idea of what I thought I'd want, and she delivered. The first dress I tried on was it, I still had second thoughts because I wasn't 100% sure. I didn't know what to actually look for when it came to deciding on a dress. I ended up getting a dress somewhere else and then regretted it. November rolled around and I ended up going back to Believe Bride and getting the dress I originally tried on. I believe that time I worked with a girl named Jayden. It was a very magical experience.
The Big Day! I would say the one thing that made our wedding different was the bouquet toss. I didn't do a normal bouquet toss. I gave each individual single gal a single rose. Our pastor was our officiant, and he did a great job, his wife even helped coordinate it. My two sisters were my maid of honors, and 2 of my nieces were my bridesmaids, and my youngest niece was my flower girl. My son and nephew were the ring bearers, my nephew brought my son up in a wagon. My oldest son was my husband's best man. My husband also had his best friend who was also the best man. He had another friend of his as his groomsmen.
What was your favorite part of your wedding? Seeing my husband trying to hold back his tears when I walked down the aisle.
Special Memories! I was able to marry my best friend. I couldn't have asked for a better day. There was a lot of special memories. We had a photo booth that gave print outs to our guests when they took pictures.
What advice would you give to future brides? Just breathe, have fun, don't stress, and just enjoy the day.
