First things first, be sure to set your wedding budget with your partner. This helps narrow down the sights to affordable venues, caterers, and other potential vendors. You need to be able to see the big picture before you start booking your vendors. Additionally, everyone paying for the wedding needs to be on the same page. It could turn into a complicated mess quick if financial boundaries are not set early on.
Research Venues
Know before you go! Whether it’s an intimate family gathering, barnyard bash, or a downtown setting, it’s important to know what fits best with you and your lifestyle. What do you prefer? Is a specific location important to you or is a destination wedding out of the question? There are a lot of things to consider when deciding on a venue for your special day. Luckily, it is easier now, more than ever, to hop online and search for the perfect place! Several things to consider when researching cost and your budget, ambiance and mood, capacity and size, parking, insurance, acoustics and sound, location, food and drink minimums, and layout.
Set a date
Make sure you get the wedding date you want by researching and contacting venues early. Depending on what season you plan to get married in, you’ll be planning far before it. Once you set a date, you can start notifying those around you. People have busy schedules, so the sooner you set the date, the more time you give your loved one’s time to schedule time off from work, school, or book travel accommodations.
Set Your Bridal Party
Find your tribe! There are so many moving parts to the planning process, so you’ll also want to get your team set up- a.k.a. your bridal party. They won’t just be there next to you on the big day, but they’ll be your team of superheroes by your side through every tasting, fitting, appointment, and late-night crafting session. They’ll be there to help with something your partner can’t- finding your dream dress!

It’s important to feel beautiful on one of the best days of your life and the perfect wedding gown makes all the difference. Are you picturing a dress search that’s personal, intimate, relaxed, and all you? Take an adventure and travel to some shops. Do your research and find what styles interest you. When you go, take some of your closet friends and family to share in the excitement. They can offer some great insight for when you’re there. Don’t worry, they’ll tell you if your butt’s too big!
