A New Addition to the Family

Adorable proposal alert! We love hearing these stories and this one is one of our favorites.

“John went for a hike in my hometown with my parents and our dogs, "shared the soon to be bride, Makenzie. “I raised a dog in college and while we were on our hike, John asked me to look at her new tag.”

Turning over the tag, Makenzie caught her breath and read, “I love you; can John be family?" Looking over at John she noticed he was down on one knee. Isn’t that adorable?

The two celebrated a beautiful fall wedding on September 17, 2019, in Alder, Montana.

“Our wedding was in a small town in Montana,” shared the couple. John’s father grew up in a small town named Sheridan, and his lifelong friend owned Ruby Dell Ranch in Alder, Montana. The family friend offered to let the couple use his 130-year-old barn for their venue.

“We created all of the decorations on our own between my mother and me,” said Makenzie. “We loved having our ceremony and reception with the view of the fantastic Ruby Mountains and we were surrounded by all of our friends and family. I couldn’t have asked for a better day to celebrate our love.”

Their first dance was to Millionaire by Chris Stapleton and Jason O’Neil Photography snapped photos of the smiling duo all night. Loco Ono provided delicious barbecue food from Oregon City and DJ Keelan Philips kept the party alive with his groovy tunes.

“My makeup and hair were done by family friends which made it even more special,” said Makenzie.

Bride’s Special Moment:

“We had our first look, and nothing can replace the joy I felt right then. Getting to see John for the first time and knowing today was the day we get to commit to each other for life, was something I’ll never forget.”

Congratulations to Makenzie and John Chamberlin! We are so happy to hear that John is a part of the family!
