Cheers to Mr. and Mrs. Claude and Rachel Lyman!
In a world of Pinterest boards and constant comparison, Rachel and Claude threw a celebration that was absolutely a PERFECT fit for their personalities, and their relationship. From the proposal to the hand made details of their big day, absolutely everything about this day was perfectly “them”.
The Proposal:
“Claude got down on one knee in front of my whole family at my birthday/graduation party December 22, 2018. We had been dating for nearly nine years at that time so our families had seen us grow so much together. It meant the world to me that my family got to see him propose to me. On a funny note, when he opened the ring box, the ring fell out onto the carpet! We both were a little teary-eyed so it took a second to find the ring. We both agreed later that it wouldn't have been "us" if something like that hadn't happened.”
From here it get’s even better! The two were married September 21, 2019 in Ellensburg, Wa. Rachel and her dad worked for months leading up to the wedding on hand cut benches for their ceremony. They found a gorgeous piece of her dad’s property to use as the ceremony space, and harvested sagebrush from the property to use as bouquets. Talk about one of a kind!
“After the ceremony, everyone met at the Western Village at the Ellensburg Rodeo Grounds for a reception of drinks, dinner & dancing. One of Claude's 'must-haves' was outdoor dancing so his grandpa built us a dancefloor to have in the courtyard. Thanks to Grandpa Ben, we danced the night away under September stars.”
“The whole day was such a special memory! We felt so lucky to get married in our hometown where we fell in love. Everything from the sagebrush bouquets to tacos for dinner to our first dance song was so US. The months of planning and decision making paid off because we truly had the wedding of our dreams by sticking to what was important to us.”
“Now when we go back there it's still 100% ours - memories in a special location that we will never have to share with anyone else.”
We love everything about this love story. Any time a bride takes the time to focus on little details that will last a lifetime, that’s a win to us! Rachel added these gorgeous custom sleeves to her dress, had hand picked bouquets, and poured her heart into making little details for her day that were so very unique to them as a couple. We are so so happy for you both. Congratulations!
