A Match “Made In Montana”

“We will always cherish spending the day with our families and friends,” shared the Believe Bride, Alyssa. “We have such close families and having everyone there to celebrate was so special.”

The happy newlyweds, Alyssa and AJ, were married July 27, 2019 in Portland, OR in front of 400-500 of their closest friends and family. The ceremony was held at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the couple was married by Father Dave, who knew AJ, the groom, since childhood.

Alyssa’s, now husband, AJ works and lives on his family farm where they grow potatoes for Tim’s Potato chips, among other crops. Roughly a year ago, he had asked her to go on a dirt bike ride around the farm. After cruising around, the couple arrived on top of a hill that overlooked his farm and a lake.

“I told him how beautiful it was,” shared Alyssa. In that moment  AJ got behind her as she was taking a panorama photo. “My phone stopped right before it got to the view with him in it. He asked why I had stopped and I turned around to find him on his knee asking him to marry him,” smiled Alyssa. “Of course I said yes ,even before he could get the question out!”

Their catholic family was fully expecting the wedding to be at least an hour to an hour and a half, but were surprised to sit through a short 45-minute ceremony! The couple then moved the reception to the Fazio Family Potato farm on Sauvie Island, OR.

“We spent all our time leading up to the wedding decorating a potato storage shed so we could hold our reception inside,” said Alyssa. Arranged for You, provided then beautiful floral arrangements. Hair was done by Kylie MacLachlan and makeup was done by Amoura Esthetics.

The party danced the night away, thanks to Noteworthy DJs, under the 2000 feet of lights. Friends and family drank their signature “Made in Montana” drinks because Alyssa and AJ met in Montana at college. “It was fitting to have our favorite Montana made alcohol of Coldsmoke and Orphan Girl bourbon mixed with root beer,” shared the Believe Bride.

The couple ate from Tim’s potato chip and dip bar and enjoyed catering from Wild Current Catering.

“My husband and I love ice cream so we also had an ice cream bar,” laughed Alyssa.

After all the food, speeches, cake from Brown Butter Bakery, and dancing the lovebirds left the reception under the light of sparklers and rode away in a tractor.

“Our wedding day was everything we could have dreamed of and more! All our hard work getting to make the potato shed go from a place to store potatoes all winter to a magical and romantic wedding venue made our day even more special!”

 Bride’s Special Moment:

The couple shared that they will always cherish getting to spend the day with their family and friends.

“We have such close families that having everyone there to celebrate with was so special,” shared the groom. “Another super fun memory was getting to line dance to the song Cotton-Eyed Joe because that was a huge dance we did at Carroll College together.

“Also, a very special thanks to Believe Bride for my amazing dress!” I was given so many wonderful compliments about it,” shared Alyssa.

Congratulations to Alyssa and AJ Fazio!
