Why You Should Rent a Suit or Tuxedo for Your Wedding

Your wedding is fast approaching and it’s time to decide: will you rent a suit or tuxedo for the big day, or will you buy? There are pros and cons to each choice, but many grooms find that renting is the most affordable, stress-free option. If your lifestyle doesn’t require you to wear a suit or tux for regular formal occasions, renting is likely the way to go! Check out our list of the top reasons to rent a suit or tuxedo for your wedding:

1) It’s affordable.
There’s no getting around it -- renting a suit or tuxedo for your wedding is almost always going to be cheaper than buying. Many suit and tux rentals are under $200, making this a great option for looking sharp on a budget.

2) You can level up your look.
If you have a little more to spend, you can rent a designer suit for a fraction of the suit’s purchase price. Why not go all out on your wedding day? We carry some of the industry’s most sought after designers, including Michael Kors, Allure, and Ike Behar.

3) It’s streamlined.
All you need to do is choose your look with our tux specialist (either in store or from home via Zoom) and give us your guys’ info, and we’ll take it from there! We’re happy to reach out to your out-of-town groomsmen to collect measurements and payment -- we can even have their garments shipped directly to them so they have plenty of time to try on and make adjustments before the big day.

4) You can match your look to your groomsmen.
If you’re planning to match your groomsmen, renting is the best option. This keeps the cost down for your guys, and makes the process of finding and procuring the right suit much easier. We’re here to help you and your groomsmen feel comfortable and confident on the big day. We even have options if the groom wants to purchase, but groomsmen want to rent -- you can still match!

5) It’s easy to accessorize.
Most suit and tux rentals will also help you accessorize your look. At Believe Bride, we help you find a style that complements your body type and make recommendations for accessories like shoes, ties, and cufflinks. All you have to do is set an appointment and we’ll do the heavy lifting! If you’d rather invest in a suit to keep, don’t worry! You can also purchase your favorite style from our collection of men’s suits in Spokane.

If you decide to rent a suit or tuxedo for your wedding, the Believe Bride team will help you every step of the way. Our experienced consultants will make sure your suit or tux complements your bride’s dress style, stays within your budget, and most importantly, fits your body!

Sandra + Owen

Sandra and Owen became Mr. and Mrs Rust on August 8, 2020. They hosted their beautiful ceremony on their family’s property in Sandpoint, ID. Congratulation you lovebirds! We wish you a lifetime of happiness!

My wedding was an antique, garden theme. Lots of lanterns, beautiful flowers arrangements that my mother made, beautiful vines, the decor was brilliant thanks to my sisters! We had pasta and lots of beer ;)

image6.jpeg

What was your favorite part of your wedding?: That’s really hard to pick but probably dancing the night away with my husband!

Special Memories: My grandfather gave me away due to my father passing away in 2015. My Gramp cried and cried, hugged and kissed me, it was so sweet. He was very honored and thrilled I asked him. He was devastated by the loss of his son, my dad.. so he was speechless on Christmas Day when I asked him to give me away.

What advice would you give to future brides?: Give yourself at least 1 year and be realistic about a budget!!

Shawna + Tully

August 22, 2020, Shawna and Tully officially tied the knot at Sacheen Lake, in Newport WA! So glad to have you as a part of the Believe Bride Family! Here’s to many years of love, joy, and happiness. Cheers!

flower girl first look.jpg

The Proposal. : It was 8:00 am and Tully wanted to go for a walk in 40 degree weather. I did NOT want to go but he kept pushing me so I finally gave in. We took one last walk down by the Spokane river, it was freezing. He said he had something for me and pulled away from me to get down on one knee, which I was not expecting it! He had been in the Air Force for 9 months, and we were finally going to be together again. It was a special moment for us both and I’m so happy he did it in his own way!

bride and groom dance.jpg

The Big Day: One of the most creative things I’ve ever done was our center pieces! His last name is Kerr, and there are Kerr mason jars. I spray painted then rose gold and put some flowers in them and everyone loved it! The venue was his aunts house, a beautiful location and we were so blessed that she let us have our special day there. It was a elegant/rustic theme with purple, grey and rose gold as our special colors. With the theme we chose, not knowing our wedding was going to be at the lake, it tied in nicely with the lake! It was small and intimate and personal to my husband and it meant so much to us to have it at a location that he took a pet in growing up in.

What was your favorite part of your wedding?: Putting on my wedding dress for the first time in months, seeing myself with my hair and makeup done. And the excitement I felt when Tully was going to see me for the first time as his soon to be wife.

Special Memories: My dad seeing me for the first time. Tully’s mom putting on her mother’s pearls on me. Tull watching me coming down the isle. My niece seeing me for the first time. My bridesmaids singing a “love is an open door” adjusted song to me and Tully. Daddy daughter dance. (I never knew how important this dance was until we did it). Our pastor announcing us a husband and wife.

What advice would you give to future brides?: Don’t stress. It’s not worth it! Make sure every person on site has at least one job to handle while you relax and get ready. I didn’t have to worry at all on my special day because everyone knew what I wanted and they knew how to handle certain situations. Take care of yourself on your day!

Victoria + Mark

Victoria and Mark said “Yes” to forever on July 26, 2020. Congratulations you two! And thank you so much for sharing your special day with us!

We got married on the Pend Oreille River. COVID made it so that our 200+ guests went down to 95. We thought it would take away from our day, but the truth is that we couldn’t have felt more loved and supported than we did.

bride and groom

What was your favorite part of your wedding?: I looked at my high school sweetheart, my best friend, my love for the past four years and realizing that it was real. I was finally his wife and that we have our entire lives ahead of us.

Special Memories: I have five brothers! I did a reveal to them and my dad. THEY ALL CRIED WHICH WAS THE MOST SPECIAL MOMENT I COULD HAVE IMAGINED.

What advice would you give to future brides?: Drink water, EAT SOMETHING, and squeeze everyone as tight as you can!

Megan + Trevor

Megan and Trevor had to change their plans in the face of our current world events, but it couldn’t have turned out better! They tied the knot July 5th, 2020 in Kettle Falls. Congratulations you two!

There’s a small, old, abandoned schoolhouse he took me to on our first trip up there, and I fell in love. We decided that since we had to cut down on our list so much, this school house would be perfectly romantic and so sentimental. It was a dream!

IMG_2715.JPG

Tell us about the proposal! We LOVE to hear these stories. : We were visiting the place where we first met, two years earlier. We were getting ready to leave, but his car wouldn’t start (turns out he had pulled some stuff out to make sure it didn’t run). He asked to go on a walk with me to “de-stress” (dramatic I know). We stood by the river and watched the clouds roll in. He looked at me and smiled, said “I really love you”, and got down on one knee. I had NO IDEA it was coming. Suddenly I noticed a dear mutual friend hiding in the bushes taking photos, along with several other close friends. I cried and said yes a dozen times.

Description of Your Wedding: Like so many others, our wedding was affected by COVID. It was supposed to be on Mount Spokane, but we moved it two hours north to his hometown. There’s a small, old, abandoned school house he took me to on our first trip up there, and i fell in love. We decided that since we had to cut down on our list so much, this school house would be perfectly romantic and so sentimental. It was a dream.

What was your favorite part of your wedding?: My favorite part was the first look. My heart was beating out of my chest! The photographer told me to reach out my hand and touch his shoulder. He teamed up and I could tell he was tearing up. He turned around and we absolutely cried. He held me and suddenly all the anxiety melted away, all I was was excited and eager to marry my best friend.

Special Memories: My mom danced to “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” by Whitney Houston with me!!! Best dance moment ever.

What advice would you give to future brides?: Take mental screenshots because the day will be over in what feels like a flash!

Kayla + Kasey

September 28, 2019, Kayla and Kasey tied the knot at the Elk Ridge Campground. Their wedding was absolutely stunning, and chalk full of amazing memories to help build their perfect love story. Congratulations you two! So glad to have you as a part of the Believe Bride Family! Here’s to many years of love, joy, and happiness. Cheers!

The Proposal. : Kasey proposed to me on June 16th at the Sunbanks Resort on Banks Lake. Both mine and his family had been camping and boating together for the weekend. At the resort is a cute little cantina where you could sing karaoke, and of course we did. Both of our families got up and sang Friends In Low Places, and after the song Kasey got down on one knee and asked me to marry him in front of everyone. It was awesome! Lots and lots of tears!

304A5631.jpg

The Big Day: Our wedding in the woods was decorated with themes from the vintage 1920's/30's prohibition era with colors of burgundy, gun metal gray, and black. My husband loves old school gangster movies, and I love early 20th century vintage decor and styles, so it was a perfect fit for us! We chose pearls, soft lace, and whiskey/wine barrels to decorate the large meadow where we had our ceremony and reception to give it that old school feel. When trying to think of an easy and clean toast for our guests at the reception, my husband and I made, and jarred, a family homemade recipe of apple pie moonshine with a few of my family members who are the best at making it. The moonshine was such a hit with the guests that 200 mini jars were gone before the sun went down!

The night before our wedding it started to downpour. We knew it was going to rain weeks before, and as the hour of our ceremony grew closer the rain did not look like it was going to let up. The owners of our venue, Elk Ridge Campground, Tim and Julie Hoffer, were absolutely amazing in coming up with multiple plans for the wedding in the event that it was going to keep down-pouring once the ceremony rolled around. They say that rain on your wedding day is good luck, so I guess Kasey and I had heaps of good luck on our day! When it came down to the last 20 min. before the ceremony started the rain had subsided to very light sprinkle, and the second I arrived to the isle with my dad, the rain had let up all together and didn't pick up again until speeches were had, and bellies were filled with food and drink; it was a miracle!

Even though our wedding wasn't the exact picture of perfection with all of the rain, it was perfect because it was mine and Kasey's wedding, and it was a unique experience that is all our own.

What was your favorite part of your wedding?: So many moments happened during our wedding planning, and during the day of wedding that will stick with me forever. Two moments instantly come to the forefront of my mind when I think to our special day.

Kasey and I had been looking around for wedding bands, and were a little discouraged styles and prices that were available for us to purchase. At a wine tasting with my aunt, mom, and Nana, I asked them the question, "Does it really matter if I have a wedding band for my wedding day? Couldn't I just re-wear my engagement ring?" No one gave me an answer before my aunt took a slim silver band from one of her fingers and had me try it on my ring finger. It fit perfectly; it gives me chills just thinking about it. My aunt said. "It fits perfectly! There's your wedding band!" I had asked her why, why this ring. She proceeded to tell me that it my great grandma's wedding ring, my Nana's mom's ring. I had gotten the blessing to have it, and just like that, in that special moment, I had my wedding ring! Being able to have my husband put my great grandma's wedding band on my finger in front all the people we love is something I will never forget for the rest of my life.

Trying to find my wedding dress was a whole moment in itself as well that still gives me chills. I had gone first to Believe Bridal to find my wedding dress. I chose them because of their unique styles, and that they carried designs far beyond the traditional sweetheart neckline and a-line skirt. Of course I had found a beautiful Lillian West dress this first time around. Of course at my height of 6'0", any dress I find would have to be altered and I would have to wear flats as wedding shoes because certain dresses only come so long. Big decisions like this take time to think! Going back the second time, I decided to try on a few more just be sure that the first dress was the one I wanted. Looking at the racks I found an extremely long, simply elegant looking dress hidden in a corner all by itself. Not thinking anything about it, I put it with the rest of the to try on in order to solidify my decision in buying the first Lillian West dress. This dress would be the last dress I would try on that day, because once I walked out of that dressing room and saw the reactions on my families faces, saw how wonderfully long it was (I was tripping on the fabric in bare feet, a.k.a. hello heels! It was awesome!), and how perfectly it fit me without any alterations I didn't want anything in the salon but this dress. Thinking of getting to wear that dress on my wedding day still makes puts a giant smile on my face, and looking at all of our stunning photos from the day makes me want to put it back on and spend the day in it all over again!

Special Memories: One of my favorite memories from mine and Kasey's wedding was having his Uncle Rob be our officiant for the wedding. He was so excited to be apart of our day, and he was equally just as nervous. Uncle Rob did an amazing job as our officiant, the best we could have ever asked for, but in the nerves of the day he forgot one key part of the ceremony. Not until our speeches during the reception did my dad bring up that we never said our I Do's! It got a big laugh out of everyone; no one even noticed! So, over our dinner plates, we our I Do's.

What advice would you give to future brides?: Thinking of all of the expectations and plans I had for the wedding, I can confidently say things did not work exactly as I had hoped, and it was still perfect non the less! As a bride, when it came down to the day of the wedding, you have to let go of most control over how things are going to turn out. You can't be there to decorate everything, or set the food/cake up, or even make sure all the people that are involved are in the right place. The best thing you can do as a bride is to make sure you have a good team of people around you that are ready to help with every little detail, and to enjoy every second that passes by. Be in the moment because it is the fastest day of your life!

bride and groom

We know that wrangling the guys in your wedding party to all come into the store isn’t always the easiest process! That’s why we created a process that will work for everyone.

It starts with a consultation! That’s where we sit down with the lucky couple to choose the colors and styles that you would like everyone to wear! We offer a wide variety of colors and styles, and our tux specialist is a master at helping you mix and match styles until hey suit your vision! The great news here, is that this can be done either in person at the store, or it can be done virtually in the comfort of your very own home. This way, we can make sure that we can meet with you at a time and place that’s convenient for you.

Then, we get all of your party’s information, and send them a video explaining how to do their measurements! Then the suits conveniently show up right on their doorsteps, ready to try on, the week of the wedding. It truly can’t get any easier than that.

groom in tux

After you party the night away, looking sharp and stylish, just drop off all of your suits right here at the shop, and you’re good to go!

FIFTH ANNUAL NATIONAL BRIDAL SALE EVENT

July 18-25, 2020

It’s Not Just A Sale, It’s An Event

The fifth annual National Bridal Sale Event (NBSE) takes place July 18-25, 2020.  Nearly 900 independent, locally-owned bridal retailers including top bridal salons in the United States will participate in this event meant to offer brides, bridesmaids, and wedding guests an unprecedented opportunity for substantial savings. National Bridal Sale Day has become an annual tradition for the bridal industry similar to a Black Friday or Small Business Saturday for other retail stores. It is recognized by Chase’s Calendar of Events and scheduled annually on the third Saturday in July,” says the event’s creator, Sue Maslowski, owner of Jay West Bridal in Haddonfield, N.J.

“It also means brides do not have to shop the Internet for price,” Maslowski says. “They can walk into any participating bridal salon across the country on that day and touch, see and feel what they are purchasing with no surprises.  And often, they can take the gown home the same day!”
